Library

 

Welcome back to Sunnyvale Library for 2010.   My name is Mrs Murray and I have had the pleasure of being the Librarian at Sunnyvale School for 14 years.   I  hope I can encourage your child to love reading as much as I do.

The Library is open during interval and lunchtimes Monday - Thursday and Student Librarians are on duty.   Children may return or issue books, research for homework topics or just relax and read. 

Classes visit the Library every week.  Junior/Middle pupils may borrow one book at a time and Seniors may borrow two books.  Books are issued for 2 weeks and may be returned to the Library at any time.   Any books that are lost or damaged  must be paid for.

Scholastic Books 

A Scholastic leaflet will be sent home with your child twice a term. Scholastic Books have a huge range of reasonably priced books for Preschool to Intermediate reading age.   If you wish to purchase any items please complete the order form and return  to me by the due date (last day for orders will be in the School newsletter). Payment may be made by cash/cheque/visa or eftpos.  Your child will usually receive their order within 4 days of the last order date. 

                                                                                                       

Waitakere Mobile Library

The Waitakere Mobile Library will be visiting our school every 2nd Friday from 1.15 - 2.15pm, and any children who bring their Waitakere Library cards to school will be allowed to borrow books. These books may be returned to any branch of Waitakere Libraries or to the Mobile Library when it next visits the school. 

Term 3 Visits - July 2,16 & 30 : August 12 & 26 : September 9 & 23

Term 4 Visits - October 7 & 21 : November 4 & 18 : December 2 & 16

 Book Week

Book Week for 2010 will be from August 2nd - August 6th. The theme will be Destination - Read around the world. We have lots of events planned for this week both in the classroom and after school. Watch the School newsletter for more details
