Term 3, 2011

We have had a fantastic start to the term with a very successful camp! The children all enjoyed their week away at Carey Park, participating in lots of challenging and exciting activities. We are now settling back into our school routines.

Concept- Our concept for this term is competition and it will be related very closely to the Rugby World Cup. As a whole school we will be participating in many RWC activities. We will be having our own RWC tournament at school where children will be split into mixed age groups and compete in a number of activities. Your children will be assigned a country to represent and they are able to come to our RWC day dressed in their team's colours.

Homework- Each week your child will be given homework. Homework will alternate between their ABC book and a homework sheet. Each night it is expected that your child completes a small amount on their homework. Also, please encourage your child to read a novel each night at home

Library- Our day for visiting the library is Monday. Each week your child will be able to choose 2 books from the school library. The Waitakere mobile library bus visits our school every second Friday during lunchtime. Any children with a Waitakere library card are able to go and get books out
