Room 18

Kia ora and welcome back!

Term 3 is another busy Term and a very exciting one! The World Cup is starting very soon! Sunnyvale will be incorporating the Rugby World Cup into our learning and celebrating in our own special way.

To help get your child back into the routine of school there are some things you can do to help:-

  • Your child will be taking home a reading book each day. The book will come home in your child’s book bag and must be brought back the next day. If your child does not have a book bag they can be purchased from the office.
  • There are a couple of things you can do at home to help your child’s reading come alive. After your child has finished reading their book you can ask them to explain their favourite part and why it was their favourite part. You can also help your children during reading by providing them with a quiet comfy space to read with no distractions.

This Term's concept is Competition. We will be looking at what it means to be a good competitor. We will focus our concept around the Rugby World Cup and will be having special events at school to celebrate and learn about this event. So keep an eye out of the notices coming home that will explain what is happening.

I am looking forward to another exciting term of learning with Room 18.  If you have any problems or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me or drop by at school.

Best Wishes
