Hello!
Hello everybody! We are almost at the end of Term Three and the children have been doing some excellent work that is being displayed in the classroom. They have also had an exciting day out at Henderson Primary School taking part in a variety of games, and have participated in Sunnyvale’s very own Rugby World Cup day. The concept for this term is Competition and the kids are loving it J We have been using the Rugby World Cup as our main motivation and the children have created an awesome Rugby and Competition wall.
Class Routines - Every morning it is expected that your child hangs their bag up and puts their book bag into our book bag box. If your child arrives before 8.30am, they are expected to wait in front of the library until the 8.15am bell rings.
Uniform- Thank you for ensuring that all your children’s clothing is labelled. This has made it easier to hand out at the end of the day. If there is any other clothing underneath your child’s uniform, please tuck it in. Any uniform that is found around the school is usually handed in to the office.
Book bags- Please continue to ensure your child is bringing their book bag home with their reading books, reading log and any other school notices. Taking a book home every night and reading it with them contributes to their improvement in reading.
Lunch orders- Lunch orders are available on Thursdays and Fridays. Please ensure your child has the correct change to order their lunch.
Library and ICT- Every Tuesday we visit the Library and the ICT room. This is a good time for your child to choose a book from the library that they would like to take home for the week. During ICT time, we are learning how to set up a Power Point. The skills needed for this consist of inserting a picture and writing facts about a topic. Most of these skills were learnt last term and have contributed well to their new learning this term.
Concept- Our concept this term is Competition. Thanks for sending along articles as well as other material to use in the classroom, we have created a World Cup wall and are currently making scrapbooks to include all the articles and pictures the children have brought in. Although we are using the Rugby World Cup as our main motivation, we are also exploring other forms of Competition.
